Socal Holiness Pastors' Day 2009
Report
On March 18 the annual Holiness Pastors' Day in Southern California took place at Church on the Way in Van Nuys, CA. Pastor Jim Tolle was gracious in providing the facility and staff as well as the lunch for the pastors who attended.
An innovative design provided a unique perspective to the pastors who attended. Each of the Regional Leaders spoke presenting the unique distinctive of their particular denomination on the greater theme of Holiness. Instead of a high profile resource person, these denominational leaders collectively served to resource the pastors by giving them a broad view of Holiness. This unique model made very clear the diversity of the Holiness message and at the same time the powerful unifying force it is to the larger church.
Certainly all of the denominations value all dimensions of the message but each brought a distinctive emphasis in its history. Pastors were the beneficiaries of the collective wisdom and insight of these leaders around the following themes:
| Setting The Stage Kevin Mannoia |
. | ||
| Holiness and Unity David Winn |
. | ||
| Holiness and Peace Perry Engle |
. | ||
| Holiness and Social Action Victor Leslie |
. | ||
| Holiness and Gifts Cedric Reynolds |
. | ||
| Holiness and Culture Steve Fitch |
. | ||
| Holiness and Heart Jerry Ferguson |
. | ||
| Closing Discussion Kevin Mannoia |
. |
Evaluations of the day were extremely positive. The pastors saw their denominational leaders as influencers for the common call to Holiness in the 21st Century and the unity across denominational lines that this message fosters.
