How do I begin the publishing process with Aldersgate Press?

Those interested in publishing should first complete the Interest form below for general inquiries. Formal proposals or submissions should then be emailed to Barry Callen, our Editorial Director, directly following the submission guidelines.

How are manuscripts evaluated?

All manuscripts are reviewed based on how well they align with the mission of Aldersgate Press. Once reviewed by the Editorial Director, qualifying proposals are sent to an editorial board for further evaluation.

What kinds of books is Aldersgate Press looking to publish?

We are primarily interested in shorter works (up to 150 pages) written from a Wesleyan Holiness perspective. Ideal submissions address topics of importance for the global church and are written by pastors, church leaders, or academics passionate about communicating God’s holiness in contemporary contexts.

What materials are required for a proposal?

A complete proposal should include:

  • A CV or resume detailing education, experience, and previous publications

  • A full manuscript in PDF, plus a one-page statement outlining the book’s purpose and intended audience

  • If no manuscript is available: a one-page statement of purpose, chapter outline with one-paragraph summaries, a sample chapter, and an estimated submission date

Only proposals that include all required components will be forwarded for editorial board review.

What happens after my manuscript is accepted?

If approved, the Publisher will issue a publishing contract. After the contract is signed, the manuscript undergoes professional editing and must be approved by the Editorial Director. Once finalized, it is authorized for production with Aldersgate Press’s publishing partner.
